How To Make Your Money Grow
Our successful Make £5 Grow schools programme has been adapted to support education providers at school or at home to accommodate the new ways of teaching during COVID.
What is Make £5 Grow?
Make £5 Grow gives young people the experience of starting a small business with a little bit of help from Virgin Money. Why not give it a go while you are at home?
Now in its tenth year, 1,700 primary schools and over 150,000 pupils have signed up to the programme.
Benefits for pupils
The programme gives pupils an insight into how business works and helps them to build skills for the future, such as team-working, problem solving, leadership, money management and creativity.
Engaging, educational and great fun, it delivers key elements of the National Curriculum.
Our simple programme gives you all the tools to teach pupils essential skills for life.
How It Works
There is a lot of flexibility in how you chose to run the programme.
You can either work with your pupils to plan and draft a budget required to bring their creation to life, much like a real life entrepreneur would. Or you can request a £5 from us to help them manage their money to source materials needed to create a real product or service they can sell to make a profit*.
Which ever route is taken, it is really all about taking part and learning key skills which they can put to good use through the rest of their educational journey and beyond. They can then choose to bring their idea to life by building it or creating a poster or online image to showcase their ideas
